Yerxas of New Brunswick

The Yerxa name is quite unique. It is the mutation of the Dutch name Jurcksen that was adopted by the family members who came to New Brunswick as United Empire Loyalists. Anyone with the Yerxa name almost certainly should be in this family tree.

Many of the Yerxas of New Brunswick were successful farmers and merchants. Quite a few of them emigrated back to the US in later generations.

There is another branch of the Jurcksen family that were United Empire Loyalists, who went to Ontario (Adophstown) through Sorel Quebec. They adopted the name Yerex. This branch began with Isaac Yerkse and his son, William Yerex.
